Tidepool
The story goes...
Five sea women live peacefully in their underwater realm.
Each has her own special stone, uniquely her own, her place of security.
Lore has it that if any of the sea women were to venture out and away from her special protective stone ... and up into the beyond where the ancient bronze vessel lay ... then the prize for having an adventurous heart would be that the sea woman would be granted a special gift ... her patina would change from bronze to silver and she would be given the legs of a woman so as to traverse the earth while retaining her ability to live beneath the sea, as sea women do.
In this neckpiece you'll see that there were two adventure-hearted ones!
Spirit of the Wood
"Ope your doors and take me in spirit of the wood. Wash me clean of dust and din, clothe me in your mood.Take me from the noisy light to the sunless peace, where at mid-day standeth Night singing toil's release. All you dusky twilight stores to my senses give; take me in and lock the doors, show me how to live. Lift your leafy roof for me, part your yielding walls: Let me wander lingeringly through your scented halls. Ope your doors and take me in, spirit of the wood; Take me - make me next of kin to your leafy brood."
